Welcome to the Silver Life Center  

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is rolling out the welcome mat for the region’s growing senior population with the launch of its Silver Life Centers. The first center opened November 16 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The Silver Life Center – the first of several BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee plans to open – is designed to offer services to seniors with membership in a BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee health plan but accommodates any senior or relative caregiver seeking information or services regardless of their membership status. Services such as case and condition management, educational resources and access to the Internet are available.

Silver Life Centers – which will open in Memphis and Knoxville in 2010 and in more locations in 2011 – include fully equipped, state-of-the-art examination rooms where a variety of health screening services will be available to BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee members. Screenings include health risk assessments and flu shots as well as blood pressure screenings.

The Chattanooga center occupies a store-front retail space but is designed to have a living room ambiance. Features such as full handicap accessibility and free parking are additional details that are aimed to make the seniors feel at home.
