How It Works

BlueElite helps fill the gaps left by Original Medicare. If you are in Original Medicare and you have a BlueElite plan, Medicare will pay its share of the Medicare-approved amounts for covered health care costs. Then your BlueElite plan will pay its share. BlueElite plans may also cover certain things that Medicare doesn’t cover.

Medicare Part A pays:

• Inpatient hospital care
• Skilled nursing facility care
• Hospice care
• Some home health benefits

Medicare Part B pays:

• Doctors’ fees
• Outpatient hospital care
• Some other Medicare services that Part A does not cover, such as some home health care services

Basic benefits included in all BlueElite plans:

• Payment of Medicare Part A coinsurance.
• The cost of 365 extra days of hospital coverage during your lifetime after Medicare hospital benefits end
• Medicare Part B coinsurance based on the Medicare-allowed amount
• Your first 3 pints of blood each year
• And many more expenses that Original Medicare doesn't cover
