Home Delivery Program

Our home delivery program makes it easy for you to get the medicines you need – without having to make a trip to your pharmacy. Through the program, your medicines are delivered to your door at no extra cost to you (unless you need to have it shipped to you overnight).

The home delivery program saves you the time and trouble of making a trip to the pharmacy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I pay more if I get my medicines through the home delivery program?

No. The home delivery program actually saves you money. When you get a 90-day supply of drugs in Tiers 1 and 2 you will only pay the 30-day copay amount.

Which medicines can I get through the home delivery program?

You can get your long-term medicines (the kind you take regularly) through the program. Usually, long-term medicines manage health issues like heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol and/or high blood pressure.

If your provider prescribes a short-term medicine like an antibiotic, then you should fill it at a local pharmacy in your plan’s network.

When will I receive my prescriptions?

Typically, you should expect to receive your prescription drugs from 7 to 10 business days from the time that the home delivery pharmacy receives the order. Medicines can be shipped via an overnight carrier for an additional charge if you need them sooner. If you do not receive your prescription drug(s) within this time, please call us at 1-800-831-BLUE (2583) (TTY: 711).

Will I get generic or brand name drugs sent to me?

You can get brand name and generic drugs through the home delivery program. A “generic” drug works the same as a brand name drug. It also usually costs less. But some generics are more expensive. We’ve tried to let you know about those through your formulary’s drug tiers.

In most cases, when a generic version of a brand name drug is available, our network pharmacies will give you the generic version.

What if I can’t take the generic drug?

We usually don’t cover the brand name drug when a generic version is available. But there are exceptions. If there’s a medical reason the generic drug or a covered medicine used to treat your condition won’t work for you, then your provider can ask us to cover it through the coverage determination process.
